My brother John and I ‘cordial’ despite belonging to opposing parties – Abu Jinapor
Land and Natural Resources Minister-designate Samuel Abu Jinapor has said he and his brother John Abdulai Jinapor have a very cordial relationship even though they belong to different political parties.
The Damongo MP told Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Wednesday, 24 February 2021 that his big brother, MP for Yapei-Kusawgu, is committed to his party, the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) just as he is committed to his governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Asked if there is political conflict between the two of them, the former Deputy Chief of Staff said: “Mr Chairman, it’s a question I’ve had to answer many times”.
“The assumption is that we live in the same home. We don’t. I’m a married man with four children, he’s a married man with three children. I have four girls. I did triplets. So, we live very independent lives and what I can say is just in two folds: first is that I can say that for myself and I can say that for him that we are both very very committed to our respective political parties. I don’t intend to go further than that. We are very very committed. He is strongly committed to his party. I’m probably more committed to my party and we are also very cordial”.
“I mean we are cordial as any siblings anywhere can be”, he noted.
