NDC's use of body cameras foiled NPP's electoral fraud plans – Dr. Omane Boamah

The Director of Elections and IT for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has claimed that alleged electoral fraud schemes by the then-ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections were thwarted after the NDC activated its body camera surveillance strategy nationwide.
According to Dr. Boamah, the use of body cameras by NDC polling agents and election observers played a critical role in exposing and deterring electoral malpractice during the polls.
“The NPP's rigging strategies collapsed the moment we activated all our body cameras across the country,” he stated.
“It was a game-changer that protected the integrity of the electoral process and gave power back to the people.”
Dr. Boamah made the remarks addressing party supporters and stakeholders in a post-election review. He praised the vigilance and discipline of NDC agents at polling stations, saying their efforts were instrumental in ensuring a credible and transparent outcome.
The NDC’s technological approach to election monitoring in 2024 has since been cited by some analysts as a key factor in the party’s successful electoral performance.
Dr. Boamah reaffirmed the party’s commitment to leveraging innovation and transparency tools in future elections to safeguard democracy and prevent electoral manipulation.
