Nat’l Muslim Conference presents proposals to NPP, NDC to factor in manifestoes
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and leadership of the National Muslim Conference (NMC), have presented their proposals, for consideration into the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress’ 2024 Manifestoes.
On the part of the NPP, Vice President and flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia reiterated the party’s commitment to inclusive development.
He presented to the NMC, the massive infrastructure and other development projects the government has undertaken in Zongos across the country, such as classroom blocks, ICT libraries, mechanised water system, entrepreneurial training, scholarships and astro turfs, funded through the Zongo Development Fund.
Dr Bawumia said his campaign and manifesto team, are ready to consider inputs from the NMC, and other stakeholders, for inclusive development.
On behalf of the NDC, Mr Mahama indicated that the NMC’s proposed 14-point is important in ensuring that political actors do not neglect the Muslim community.
He assured the National Chief Imam and the Muslim community in Ghana that as the flag bearer of the NDC, he will take a keen interest in their requests and work to ensure that the Muslim community benefits from what is due them.
He reassured the NMC that their voice will be heard in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.
