New MMDCEs to be ready in two weeks time-Ashie Moore
The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has announced that new Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) will be appointed within the next two weeks to lead Assemblies nationwide.
Ashie Moore disclosed that President John Dramani Mahama is committed to replacing all MMDCEs whose appointments were recently revoked.
The decision to appoint new MMDCEs comes after the Presidency issued a statement on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, terminating the appointments as part of a broader restructuring effort to enhance local governance.
Ashie Moore assured party supporters that the selection process is being meticulously handled to ensure the appointment of competent individuals.
He also called for patience and cooperation from NDC members as the process unfolds.
“Per our party’s machinery, this week we are conducting a screening of the nominations for prospective candidates for those positions.
So, I can assure party members, especially in my region, that if all goes well, by the close of the next 14 days, we will have MMDCEs in place.
They should cooperate with us,” he stated.
He gave this assurance while speaking in an interview with Citi FM.
