President Mahama pays glowing tribute to late President Atta-Mills on 13th anniversary

President John Dramani Mahama has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late President John Evans Atta Mills, describing him as a symbol of peace, integrity, and selfless leadership.
Speaking at the 13th memorial celebration of the late statesman, President Mahama urged Ghanaians to go beyond praising Prof. Mills in death and instead embody the values he stood for.
“It is not enough to sing his praises after his passing. The truest way to honour his memory is by upholding the principles he lived by—honesty, humility, and service to country,” President Mahama said.
He emphasised that Ghana’s ongoing national reset agenda is deeply rooted in the legacy of Prof. Mills, particularly the vision he set out through the Better Ghana Agenda.
President Mahama called for a renewed national commitment to compassion and accountability, stating that “this moment in our history demands greater kindness and integrity.”
He concluded by reminding the nation that true leadership is measured not by titles or slogans, but by the legacy one leaves behind.
“Prof. Mills’ legacy is a beacon for all of us. As we reflect on his life, let us recommit to building a nation that reflects the values he cherished,” Mahama stated.
