Speaker Bagbin rebukes Minority Leader over conduct in Parliament

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, has reprimanded the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, for his confrontational stance during proceedings on the floor of Parliament.
The Speaker’s rebuke came after Mr. Afenyo-Markin threw his support behind a concern raised by GFirst Deputy Minority Whip, Habib Iddrisu, regarding the format in which the Finance Minister’s maiden budget statement would be presented.
In his ruling, Speaker Bagbin referenced Standing Order 1952, clarifying that the Finance Minister is mandated to present a statement on behalf of the President as part of the government's fiscal management responsibilities.
However, the Minority's insistence on challenging this ruling did not sit well with the Speaker, prompting him to question whether the Minority Leader was engaging in a "shouting battle."
"You are not in a shouting battle," Speaker Bagbin retorted, calling for order and decorum in the House
