The world knows Nkrumah founded Ghana – CPP replies Akufo-Addo
The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has condemned President Akufo-Addo’s statement that Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, should not be solely credited as the founder of Ghana.
In his Founders’ Day address, Akufo-Addo emphasised that the fight for independence was a collective effort, not attributable to a single individual.
This sparked a debate on social media, with the CPP describing the President’s remarks as an “unfortunate gaffe.”
The CPP in a statement argued that the President should have been more careful with his words and accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of inaccuracies.
The CPP reaffirmed that Dr. Nkrumah is recognised globally as the founder of Ghana, highlighting his pivotal role in the nation’s independence.
