Volta, Northern Regions dominate President Mahama’s Cabinet appointments
President John Dramani Mahama has so far appointed four ministers, each from the Northern and Volta Regions, making them the regions that are most represented in his Cabinet.
This move reflects the President’s commitment to regional balance in his government as he continues to make ministerial appointments following his January 7, 2025 inauguration at the Black Star Square in Accra.
Following the Northern and Volta Regions, the Ashanti, Central, and Greater Accra Regions each have three ministerial nominees.
The Bono East, Western, and Eastern Regions also have three appointees each. Upper East and West had two each with North East region having two.
Savannah with two, Bono two, Oti two, Ahafo two and Western North two.
President Mahama’s appointments aim to ensure inclusive governance as his administration takes shape. The appointees so far are as follows:

Mr Mahama has so far appointed 42 Ministers and left with 18 more to hit his promise of 60 ministers in his administration.
