‘We should broaden our base in our next reforms’ – Bawumia to NPP

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 flagbearer, has urged his party to cast a wider net in its forthcoming reform agenda.
Addressing supporters in the Oti Region as part of the NPP’s ongoing Thank You Tour, he emphasised the need to engage a broader cross-section of Ghanaian society.
“Looking ahead, we should broaden our base in our next reforms,” Dr Bawumia declared.
“It is vital that we include voices from every region, from youth and women’s groups to traditional authorities and the business community, so that our policies reflect the aspirations of all Ghanaians.”
Speaking at a town-hall meeting in Dambai, the flagbearer reflected on lessons learned during the 2024 campaign and subsequent outreach efforts.
He praised the party’s volunteers for their dedication but acknowledged the importance of continuous improvement.
“Our strength lies in our unity and diversity,” he said. “By reaching out to new stakeholders, we strengthen our party and our nation.”
