You'll have your chance to serve -Asiedu Nketia to NDC members as Mahama's gov't takes shape

The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on party members who have not yet been appointed to government positions to remain loyal and continue supporting President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
Speaking during a meeting with NDC executives and supporters in Hohoe as part of his three-day “Thank You” tour of the Volta Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia emphasised that the number of qualified individuals within the party far exceeds the available government appointments.
“It is impossible for everyone to be appointed at once,” he explained. “President Mahama has a four-year term and the opportunity to reshuffle.
Those who remain patient and committed will also have their chance to serve.”
He encouraged members to view their loyalty as an investment in the party’s long-term success, stressing that,
“It is better to be a floor member in government than to be the same in opposition.”
Addressing a gathering of branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former executives, cadres, Assembly members, and other identifiable groups, Mr. Asiedu Nketia expressed satisfaction with the level of dedication and teamwork demonstrated during the 2024 elections, which brought the NDC back to power.
He commended the commitment of local executives and hinted that those who wish to continue serving should be given another term, noting that consistency in leadership contributes to party stability and effective mobilisation.
The NDC Chairman further assured members that more employment opportunities would open soon, particularly within the Police Service and other security agencies, urging qualified members to prepare and apply when recruitment is announced.
During the event, the Paramount Chief of the Hohoe Traditional Area, Togbui Gabusu VII, appealed to Mr. Asiedu Nketia to draw the government’s attention to stalled developmental projects within the area.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia pledged to relay the concerns to the appropriate authorities, reaffirming the NDC’s commitment to inclusive development and equitable distribution of national resources.
