Africa Technovate Awards-Fair nominations closes Feb 15th

The maiden edition of the Africa Technovate Awards-Fair nomination will end on Tuesday, 15th February 2022. 

This is in consultation with all Partners, Stakeholders, and Sponsors.

The Award-Fair is a continent-wide celebration of Excellence, Innovation, and Creativity to allow for more inclusivity and to bring out the best in technology, innovation, and creativity in Africa.

Speaking at a press conference, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AIDEC Holdings Ltd – of which AIDEC Consultancies is a subsidiary, Ambrose Yennah, said “all countries in Africa are our targets for inclusion but in particular Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, Cameroun, and DR Congo.

“Ethiopia, Uganda, Zambia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Namibia, Tanzania, Botswana, Gambia and Niger have also been our focus,” he added.

The closing date for nominations for the much-awaited maiden edition of the Africa th Technovate Awards-Fair has now been fixed for Tuesday, 15 February 2022.

This is in consultation with all Partners, Stakeholders and Sponsors, since this is a continent-wide celebration of Excellence, Innovation and Creativity to allow for more inclusivity, and to bring out the best in technology, innovation and creativity in Africa.

The Theme for the maiden edition of the Africa Technovate Awards-Fair is: “Information Technology and the way forward for Africa under the fourth Industrial Revolution”. How ready is Africa in the context of AFCFTA and in terms of Infrastructure and Human Resource?

The Organizers of the Awards-Fair, AIDEC Digital hereby announce the date for the AwardsFair, which is scheduled to take place in the prestigious auditorium of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Legon, Accra, Ghana as follows: Venue: Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Accra nd Date: Saturday, 2 April 2022 Time: 9.00 AM to 9.00 PM The day will start with the Fair at 9.00 AM.

There will be an Opening Ceremony at 5.00 PM and some Speeches before the Awards at 6.00 PM and end at about 9.00 PM. Apart from the Awardees, other key Stakeholders made up of a number of Distinguished Invited Guests will be attending from some Technology Training Institutions, Top technology companies in the services sector, Academia and Policy and Regulatory Authorities of the technology space, under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization.

The event, which will be both physical and virtual, will have about 150 persons in attendance and several others will be watching via livestreaming throughout Africa and beyond.

Our media partners will have the program on all online and social media platforms.

The Special Guest is the Hon. Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. There will be a Keynote address on the Theme of the Awards-Fair.

The Guest Artiste for the Awards night is Wiyaala, “the lioness of Africa” supported by Patchbay band.

Other side attractions will be the exhibition of tech products and services at the foyer of the Auditorium (UPSA).

There will be an event brochure both in soft and hard copies and Advertisers and Sponsors are encouraged to take advantage of the limited spaces available to sell their business and products across Africa and beyond. Purpose of the Awards: The Awards have been instituted by AIDEC to recognize and reward African technology companies who have blazed the trail for several years and budding young and innovative and creative tech companies charting a path for Africa in a fast digitally transforming world.

The Awards will challenge and motivate tech companies driving digital solutions to even do more to make Africa stay competitive, especially under the era of AfCFTA.

The program for the Awards, which will be both physical and virtual, will create awareness and discuss strategies on how together we can drive digital solutions for Africa.

“Africa Technovate Awards” is not a stand-alone event, but a follow up event, which was launched at the end of the “Africa Digital Forum,” held at the Best Western Premier Hotel, th Accra, on Wednesday, 25 August 2021.

The forum brought together participants from Regulators of the ICT Sector, Businesses and Academia.

The forum presented papers on topical issues and set the Agenda for Public-Private Sector engagements on how Ghana can play a lead role in providing digital solutions for Africa with the benefit of being host of the AfCFTA Secretariat.

The Theme of the Africa Digital Forum was “The Digital Challenge, Africa's opportunity under AfCFTA” and the Keynote address was delivered by the Hon. Deputy Minister of Communications and Digitalization who spoke on behalf of the sector minister nd The up-coming hybrid event is on 2 April 2022, which will be physical and live-streamed, will have renowned professionals in the technology space.

It will focus on how Digital Technologies will play a key role in driving business growth and success on the continent in the coming decade.

Digitization and Digitalization will facilitate the flow of goods, ideas and capital and bolster innovation in the public, private and third sectors of Africa.

The event was rescheduled for some technical reasons and also to allow for more nominations and all-inclusiveness that will ensure the best across all the designated five regions of Africa are identified and recognized at the awards night.

The four-hour packed maiden Africa Technovate Awards-Fair is an Africa-wide Technology and Innovations Awards night preceded by stimulating presentations on digitalization by top tech professionals.

We are inviting some 20 or more relevant Stakeholders to grace the occasion and hand over Awards.

This will cut across Government officials, Academia and Industry.
