2026 UG Corporate Football League will be more competitive – Dr Austin Luguterah
The Director of the University of Ghana (UG) Sports and Wellness Directorate, Dr Austin W. Luguterah, has assured stakeholders and football fans that the 2026 edition of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League will be even more exciting.
Speaking after a preparatory meeting with representatives of teams gearing up for the 2026 season, he expressed satisfaction about the 2025 season which climaxed with Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) emerging as champions and indicated that the 2026 season will be more competitive and exciting.
He revealed that the 2025 season recorded an impressive 142 goals across both groups, highlighting the attacking quality and high level of competition among participating companies.
Dr Luguterah further disclosed that the number of corporate institutions interested in joining the league has increased, indicating growing confidence in the competition and its organisation.
The 2026 season will have 20 teams competing for the ultimate trophy.
He also commended all participating teams, sponsors, and partners for contributing to the success of the league and reaffirmed the University of Ghana’s commitment to using sports as a tool for wellness, teamwork, and corporate networking.
