The founder and leader of the Shining Grace Chapel International has blamed the woes of the Ghana national team, Black Stars, at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon on the lack of respect for various prophecies made about the good of the team.

Bishop Isaac Appiah attributed the failures of the Black Stars to the attitudes of Ghanaians towards prophecies about the team in the country.

He said the failures of the team managers to act on the prophecies released about the good of the team is the bane of the humiliating defeat the team suffered at the ongoing Afcon.

Bishop Appiah otherwise known as Ogya Nyame made this revelation in an interview with Kwame Obeng Sarkodie, host of the Ghana Yensom morning show on Accra 100.5FM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.

According to him, before the tournament, he made several prophecies before his congregation about the success of the team and spelled out what must be done for the team to end the 40-year trophy drought.

He said all these said and done nobody showed concern about the prophecies and, therefore, chided Ghanaians to change their attitudes towards prophecies.

He pointed out that some of these prophecies must be taken seriously to help save a situation.

“The lack of respect for prophets of God in the country is part of the generational curse the team is suffering,” he said.

He noted that what happened to the Black Stars at the ongoing Afcon was revealed to him on December 31, 2021, during the watch night service of the church in the Ahafo Region.

He explained that he gave directions as to what must be done for the team to be lifted out of the curse but the directives were ignored.

“My Lord revealed the outcomes of the Black Stars matches and in the prophecies, I cautioned that if the directives are not followed, Ghana will not move up the group stages at the ongoing Afcon.

“The Lord has given Ghanaian prophets the power to help solve the team's problems but 'what do we see, gross disrespect for many of these prophets in the country,” he bemoaned.

He warned that until Ghanaians start showing some respect towards some of these prophecies the team will continue to suffer.

Ghana exited the Afcon competition at the group stage on Tuesday, 18 January 2022 after losing 2-3 to Comoros.

The team only had one point from Group C comprising Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
