FIFA Ranking: Black Stars finish 24th at the 2026 World Cup
The final standings for the expanded 48-team 2026 FIFA World Cup are in and Ghana’s Black Stars have secured the 24th spot overall.
Placing directly in the exact middle of the global tournament field, Ghana finished just behind DR Congo (23rd) and ahead of South American side Ecuador (25th).
Among the African nations featured in the official final list, Morocco led the continent with a 7th-place finish, followed by Egypt in 15th, Côte d'Ivoire in 19th, and DR Congo in 23rd.
Ghana came in as the 5th highest-ranked African team, slotting in ahead of South Africa (26th), Algeria (30th), Senegal (31st), Cabo Verde (32nd), and Tunisia (47th).
At the very top of the global ladder, Spain claimed the trophy, followed by Argentina in 2nd, England in 3rd, and France in 4th.
On the other end of the table, Iraq, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, and Haiti anchored the bottom four spots.
For Ghana, a 24th-place finish among 48 global contenders gives the Black Stars a solid baseline to reflect on as attention turns toward rebuilding and sharpening the squad for future international campaigns.
