In the next couple of days, and before the commencement of the Ghana Premier League this week, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will announce the television and radio broadcasting rights for the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League.

“I think that in the next few days, the FA will come out with names of institutions that bid. We did open up the bidding process to the public; bids came through, we are evaluating the bids. We will soon announce our TV [and] radio partners”, Mr Kurt Okraku, the GFA President said.

Television broadcasting rights holder, Star Times, had earlier cancelled their 10-year running contract with the GFA.

But the FA President believes the television and radio stations that will be chosen will ignite the passion of the game as well as create wealth for all.

The FA reports indicate that the broadcast rights would be segmented, with GBC taking the free-to-air rights of the league.

The three-segmented rights introduced by the GFA include Pay TV rights, Free-To-Air and Highlights of the League.

On whether he supports the 18-man Premier league, Mr Okraku intimated that his position is the same as the decision of congress.
