Ghana to host Africa Aquatics Zone II junior and senior championships in October
Ghana is gearing up to host the Africa Aquatics Zone II Junior and Senior Championships, scheduled to take place from October 6, 2024, at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.
A total of 19 countries have confirmed their participation in the three-day event, which will bring together top swimming talent from across the region.
Ghana, having successfully organized the previous junior edition in August 2023—where the nation secured 22 medals—is no stranger to hosting high-profile aquatics events.
The country also recently hosted the swimming events of the 13th African Games, where Ghana achieved a historic two-medal haul.
This year, Ghana's top swimmers, including Abeku Jackson, Joselle Mensah, and Harry Stacey, are expected to lead the charge and further elevate the nation’s performance at the championships.
With a strong track record in recent competitions, hopes are high for another successful outing.
