No official World Cup ticket allocations received yet, Ghana UN Mission clarifies
The Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations in New York has announced that official ticket allocations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup games have not yet been received.
The statement, issued on June 9, 2026, by Nuong Faalong, Head of Information and Public Affairs, comes in response to a surge of inquiries from the public.
High Interest Among Ghanaian Diaspora
According to the statement, the mission has received numerous calls and queries from Ghanaians, particularly those residing within the diaspora in the United States.
The influx of interest follows recent comments regarding FIFA World Cup tickets made by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama during a recent visit to the United Kingdom.
Coordination with Accra Ongoing
The mission assured the public that it is actively collaborating with national authorities in Accra to address the ticket situation.
"The Mission wishes to inform compatriots that official ticket allocations for the FIFA World Cup games have not yet been received," the press release stated. "The Mission is working closely with the relevant authorities in Accra on this issue."
Officials stated that specific details and updates regarding the ticket distribution will be communicated to the public as soon as they become available.
