Reconstitute Black Stars mgt c'ttee – Sports Ministry to GFA
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has directed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to reconstitute the Black Stars management committee following the country’s disgraceful group stage exit from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana exited the competition after finishing bottom of Group C made up of Morocco, Gabon and Comoros with one point.
The Black Stars were beaten by debutants Comoros in the final group game by 3-2 to exit the tournament after losing 1-0 to Morocco in their first game and drawing 1-1 with Gabon in the second.
The Ghana FA and the technical team led by Coach Milovan Rajevac have come under intense pressure after the exit with calls from the fans for the team to be dissolved and coach sacked.
The Sports Ministry summoned the Ghana FA to a meeting on Friday, 21 January 2022 and has directed the FA to reconstitute the current Black Stars management committee led by George Amoako.
The Ministry also directed the GFA to review the work and capacity of the Black Stars’ technical team, led by head coach Milovan Rajevac.
