Sports Minister inspects Accra Sports Stadium ahead of crucial AFCON qualifier
Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif conducted an inspection of the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, following recent rehabilitation works at the venue.
Accompanied by Seth Panwum, Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA) Board, Alhaji Ussif reviewed key facilities, including the dressing rooms, pitch, and washrooms, as part of preparations for Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier with Sundan.
The inspection follows the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) conditional approval of the stadium to host Ghana’s crucial 2025 AFCON qualifying match against Sudan, scheduled for October 11.
CAF officials had completed a three-day evaluation of the stadium from September 27 to 29, before continuing their assessment at the Cape Coast Stadium.
