Yussif Basigi ends 21-year career with Hasaacas Ladies for Simba Queens
After 21 years with Hasaacas Ladies, Yussif Basigi has resigned.
Basigi was instrumental in the founding of the Sekondi-based team in 2003. He subsequently served in the technical team, eventually rising to the head coach office.
According to the Ghana Football Association, Basigi is the longest-serving coach as far as women club football coaching in Ghana is concerned.
He recently returned to Ghana from leading the Black Princesses at the 2024 Columbia U-20 Women's World Cup.
Under Yussif Basigi’s leadership, Hasaacas Ladies chalked many successes including winning the first Ghana Women's Premier League, defeating Fabulous Ladies in the final. The team won four more league titles.
According to JOY News, Basigi, 52, left the shores of Ghana for Tanzania over the weekend. He is expected to sign for Tanzanian’s Simba Queens.
For the 2024 Women's Premier Super Cup, assistant coach Mabel Baffoe Eshun will handle Hasaacas Ladies.
