Some traders affected by the recent fire outbreak in Kumasi's Adum Central Business District have appealed to the government to allow them to rebuild their shops.

Last Friday’s devastating inferno destroyed hundreds of shops, leaving many traders counting their losses.

In the aftermath, affected traders, clad in black attire and red armbands, have expressed concerns that they might lose their trading spaces if authorities take over the land after the debris is cleared.

They have, therefore, called on the Ashanti Regional Minister to intervene and grant them the opportunity to reconstruct their shops to restore their livelihoods.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but the incident has sparked urgent discussions about fire safety and support for affected businesses in the region.
