COCOBOD CEO outlines strategic roadmap for Cocoa sector recovery in maiden staff engagement

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Ransford Abbey, has held his first official interactive session with staff of the institution as part of efforts to foster open communication and drive sector-wide reforms.
The engagement, held on Monday at Cocoa House in Accra, brought together staff from the Accra and Tema offices, as well as regional employees who joined virtually via Zoom.
During the session, Dr. Abbey delivered a candid overview of the current state of COCOBOD and the cocoa industry, acknowledging ongoing challenges while laying out a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at revitalising the sector.
He described the roadmap as bold, innovative, and necessary for repositioning Ghana’s cocoa industry for sustainable growth and profitability.
“This durbar is the first of many,” Dr. Abbey noted.
“It marks the beginning of regular, transparent dialogues with our stakeholders to keep everyone aligned with our recovery efforts and long-term vision.”
The session forms part of a broader leadership agenda focused on collaboration, accountability, and innovation in one of Ghana’s most critical economic sectors.
