Ghana is aiming to significantly scale up its Non-Traditional Exports, with a new national strategy targeting $5 billion in earnings within the next two years and $10 billion by 2030.

This ambitious goal was revealed during a meeting at the Jubilee House between President John Dramani Mahama and key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), and the Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE).

President of the Federation, Davis Narh Korbou, underscored the need for strong government support to achieve the target.

He emphasised that expanding agricultural production and strengthening export capacity are essential to driving economic growth and reaching the export goals.

“These are bold targets, but with full government backing, they are within reach,” Mr. Korbou stated.

In response, President Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a supportive macroeconomic environment that enables export growth.

He announced that the Accelerated Export Advisory Committee, which includes representation from FAGE—will soon convene to address critical bottlenecks facing the export sector.
