Labour Ministry engages private employers on GLMIS

At a meeting held at Alisa Hotel in Accra, the Acting Director of Research, Statistics, and Information Management (RSIM), Shadrach Mensah, emphasized the need for clearer roles and enhanced effectiveness of the GLMIS to make it more relevant to the job market.
Mensah noted that lack of access to information remains a major barrier to employment.
Many job seekers are unaware of available opportunities that match their skills, while employers often struggle to find the right candidates due to poorly targeted job advertisements.
The GLMIS is designed to bridge this gap by providing valuable data and insights to stakeholders, including job seekers, employers, training providers, academia, and policymakers.
This will enable evidence-based decision-making to improve job matching and workforce development.
By streamlining the flow of labour market information, the GLMIS will make it easier to connect job seekers with potential employers, ultimately fostering employment and driving economic growth.
Mensah expressed confidence that the initiative will enhance understanding of Ghana’s labour market dynamics, ensuring a more efficient and transparent job placement system for all stakeholders.
