Mahama opens National Economic Forum on March 3

President John Dramani Mahama is set to inaugurate the National Economic Dialogue (NED) on March 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
This two-day event, concluding on March 4, aims to address Ghana's recurring economic challenges by fostering homegrown solutions.
In his keynote address, themed "Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together," President Mahama will open discussions focused on sustainable economic strategies.
This initiative aligns with his commitment to engage citizens in shaping the nation's economic future.
To facilitate this dialogue, President Mahama has established a seven-member National Economic Dialogue Planning Committee, chaired by esteemed economist Dr. Ishmael Yamson.
The committee's mandate was to organize the high-level forum to build consensus on policies essential for transforming Ghana into a resilient and inclusive high-growth economy.
The forum will convene stakeholders from various sectors, including the private sector, academia, public policy institutions, and civil society organizations.
Discussions will be structured around critical themes such as:
Achieving Sustainable Macroeconomic Stability Promoting Economic Transformation Advancing Infrastructure Development Implementing Structural Reforms Ensuring Private Sector-Led Growth Restoring Good Governance and Combating CorruptionThe outcomes of the dialogue are expected to guide Ghana's fiscal planning and policy implementation, steering the nation toward long-term economic resilience and growth.
This event marks a significant step in the government's efforts to collaboratively develop actionable solutions to the country's economic challenges.
