NPA named most connected energy sector agency at IT Excellence Awards 2025

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has been honoured as the Most Connected Agency of the Year in the Energy Sector at the IT Excellence Awards 2025, held at the Alisa Hotel.
The award recognises the NPA’s strides in establishing secure and reliable digital connectivity across its regional offices, a move that has strengthened communication, improved operational efficiency, and advanced digital transformation in Ghana’s energy sector.
The IT Excellence Awards, organised by the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) in partnership with Smart Infraco Ltd, formed part of this year’s ICT Week Celebration under the theme: “Ghana as Africa’s Digital Trade Hub: Innovation, Policy and Partnerships for the Future.”
Speaking at the event, Mr. Michael Kwabla, Chief Technology Officer of Smart Infraco Ltd, praised the winners for their role in positioning Ghana as a leader in Africa’s digital transformation.
He called on stakeholders to continue fostering innovation, resilience, and collaboration to sustain the country’s digital growth.
The award was received on behalf of the Chief Executive of NPA, Mr. Godwin Tamaklo, by the Authority’s Director for Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr. Joseph Wilson.
The recognition, according to industry players, affirms the NPA’s commitment to leveraging technology in shaping Ghana’s energy future and supporting the government’s vision of a fully digital economy.
