The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has achieved a major milestone by securing certification under three internationally recognised ISO standards in a single assessment exercise.

The Authority announced that it has been certified in the areas of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS), becoming the first public sector institution in Ghana to attain all three certifications at once.

According to the NPA, the achievement underscores its commitment to operational excellence, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of safe working conditions across its operations.

The certifications are internationally recognised benchmarks that assess an organisation’s ability to maintain high standards in service delivery, environmental stewardship, and workplace health and safety.

Management of the Authority described the accomplishment as a significant step in its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional efficiency, improve stakeholder confidence, and align its operations with global best practices.

The NPA noted that the successful certification reflects the dedication of its management and staff to continuous improvement and the delivery of quality regulatory services within Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.

Industry observers say the achievement places the Authority among a select group of public institutions that have successfully integrated quality management, environmental responsibility, and occupational health and safety systems into their operations.

The Authority expressed appreciation to its staff, partners, and stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the standards required under the three ISO certifications while continuing to enhance service delivery and regulatory oversight.
