Organized Labour gets 10 percent base pay

In a significant move to boost workers' remuneration, the government has approved a 10 percent base pay increase for organised labour.
In addition, the National Tripartite Committee led by Rashid Pelpuo has agreed to a 10% increment in the minimum wage, raising it to 19 Cedis and 7 pesewas.
President John Dramani Mahama joined ongoing negotiations between organised labour and government representatives over salary increments for public sector workers.
His involvement underscores the administration's commitment to addressing wage concerns and enhancing the standard of living for Ghanaian workers.
Labour groups have welcomed the increase, noting that the decision is a crucial step toward ensuring fair compensation in the public sector.
With the minimum wage now set at 19.07 GHS, thousands of workers are expected to benefit from this long-awaited adjustment.
The negotiations are part of broader efforts by the government to reform public sector remuneration and create a more equitable economic environment.
As discussions continue, both labour unions and government officials remain hopeful that these measures will pave the way for further improvements in wage policies across the country.
