President Mahama appoints Brig. Gen. Annan as Customs Commissioner

John Dramani Mahama, President and Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has appointed Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan as the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Presidency has announced.
The announcement was made in a statement dated Sunday, March 23, 2025, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President & Minister, Government Communications.
The Presidency outlined Brigadier General Ashong Annan’s character and purview given his appointment.
“Brig. Gen. Annan is a well-respected, dedicated, principled, and patriotic Commissioned Officer of the Ghana Army. He is expected to reset the Customs Division and support the Ghana Revenue Authority to meet its targets as we work towards fixing the economy,” it said.
“Until his appointment, Brig. Gen. Annan was the Presidential Security Coordinator.”
Furthermore, the statement noted President Mahama’s gratitude to “the outgoing Commissioner, Brigadier General Ziblim Ayorrogo, for his service to the Customs Division and Ghana”.
