40Under40 Awards: Trigmatic’s 14-year legacy spotlighted; ‘It’d be a good birthday gift’

Trigmatic has been nominated for the 8th edition of the 40 Under 40 Awards.
The multiple award-winning musician spoke to Prince Benjamin (PB) on the Class Morning Show on Class 91.3 FM, Friday, July 19, 2024.
The recognition, he explained, “is to award 40 people under the age of 40 who are doing works of excellence, their diligence and what have you.
“I’ve been nominated for the entertainment category”.
Noting “voting is ongoing till the 31st of July,” the rapper cheerfully added a win for him “will be great for me because this is actually the year I turn 40. I’m technically not there but it’ll be a good gift to have it”.
Considering his journey in the media, entertainment and business, Trigmatic asserted he deserved the honour, remarking, also: “I’m proud of myself and big thanks to God for guiding me through all of this.”
Being aware that “some people nominate themselves,” the he revealed, his personal assistant (PA), and lawyer, surprised him with the nomination in recognition of his multi-dimensional influence and contribution to arts and entertainment.
When the 40 Under 40 Awards organisers sent his team a biography they had composed on him, the African Music Business Dialogue Founder said, “that’s when I actually appreciated the pain I’ve been through [and] all the work [I had done]. It looked like nobody was looking at it but it made it sense and it will make sense to anybody that reads it”.
Thus, the media star added, “whether [I] win or lose” he is content with his heartfelt efforts on the brink of 40.
“When I was reading it, I was like: ‘Wow, I’ve really done so much’,” he noted.
Trigmatic reminded his audience his accolades in music alone: Best Rapper, Record of the Year, Best Collaboration, Songwriter of the Year, Best Special Effects, Best Highlife Song, Most Popular Dancehall Song, Songwriter of the Year, and “so many, even my citations are so many”.
In view of “all these things, when I was looking at them, I was like: ‘Maybe this is the time’,” he remarked, adding his PA agreed receiving the 40 Under 40 award was long overdue.
The National Folklore Board Member encouraged compatriots and fans to vote for him by dialing *447*4040# on their phones “and you keep using 02 till you get to number 19”.
Alternatively, “visit the 40under40awards.com.gh website,” he said, apart from scanning the QR code below to vote.
The 40 Under 40 Awards, per its tagline, is for “celebrating young achievers under forty”.
The grand event happens on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 6 PM at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Accra.
Singer-songwriter Enoch Nana Yaw Oduro-Agyei, otherwise called Trigmatic, is a famed Old Mutual Amazing Voices (South Africa) judge.
