Agradaa pays GHS100,000, apologises publicly to Empress Gifty to settle legal dispute
Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, has paid an amount of GHS100,000 to gospel musician Empress Gifty Adorye and rendered an unqualified public apology, bringing an end to a legal dispute between the two public figures.
The settlement follows a defamation suit filed by Empress Gifty after a series of controversial comments and accusations made against her by Agradaa on social media and other public platforms.
As part of the agreement, Agradaa publicly retracted her statements and apologised to Empress Gifty, acknowledging that her comments had caused reputational harm and emotional distress.
The apology was made openly, in line with the terms agreed by both parties to resolve the matter amicably.
Sources familiar with the case say the GHS100,000 payment formed part of the settlement conditions to compensate Empress Gifty and to bring finality to the dispute without further litigation.
Empress Gifty is said to have accepted the apology and settlement, paving the way for the withdrawal of the case and restoring calm between the two.
The resolution has drawn widespread public attention, given the prominence of both personalities, and has been cited by observers as a reminder of the legal consequences of defamatory statements, particularly in the age of social media.
