A grieving family member of Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu has publicly spoken about what she describes as a painful and unjust experience following the musician’s passing.

In a statement, Ernestina Fosuh refuted claims that she was given the opportunity to view her late brother’s body but declined. She described the allegation as false and deeply hurtful during an already emotional period.

According to her account, she visited the Transition Funeral Home two days before the burial, accompanied by her lawyer and four others, in an attempt to see her only brother.

However, she said she was denied access.

Ernestina alleged that management of the facility informed her that instructions from the Abusuapanyin, or family head, directed that she should not be permitted to view the body.

She stated that the experience left her devastated and traumatised.

In a bid to secure what she described as her final opportunity to bid farewell, she filed an application at the High Court in Accra seeking an injunction.

Although the injunction was initially granted, she explained that it was later revoked after the court required her to provide a GHS2 million bond within hours before the close of business that Friday.

Ernestina described the events of that day as among the most painful in her life, expressing the belief that justice, as she understood it, was not ultimately served.

She added that the ordeal has led to many sleepless and tearful nights.

Despite the circumstances, she assured the public that the Celebration of Life for her late brother would proceed as planned.
