GTA boss visits Amedzofe Canopy Walk victims, assures support
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has paid a compassionate visit to victims of the recent canopy walk accident at Amedzofe in the Volta Region.
During her visit, the GTA CEO interacted with the injured persons receiving treatment and expressed heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the Authority and the tourism sector.
She wished them a speedy recovery and assured them that the agency is committed to supporting them through the healing process.
Maame Efua Houadjeto also commended the medical team for their swift response and pledged that measures will be strengthened to ensure safety at all tourist sites across the country.
The accident, which occurred earlier this week, involved a group of visitors who sustained various injuries on the popular canopy walkway.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the cause and prevent future incidents.
The GTA reiterated its commitment to prioritising tourist safety while promoting the growth of domestic tourism.
