“I Don’t want a dime” — Yaw Siki rejects royalties from ‘Wope Dodo’
Ghanaian rapper turned evangelist Yaw Siki says he does not want any money from his old hit song Wope Dodo, describing the track as unholy.
In an interview posted on X, the former hiplife artist explained that even though the song may still be generating revenue, he has no interest in receiving any share from it.
According to him, the money from the song is likely going to producer Killbeatz and others involved in the track.
“I don’t get money from Wope Dodo.
I think money came in and Killbeatz and co are the ones getting money from it,” he said.
Yaw Siki added that even if the money is brought to him, he would refuse to take it because of how he now sees the song.
“If they even bring me money from it, I won’t take it unless they have packaged it as a token and don’t let me know it is Wope Dodo money,” he stated.
The former rapper stressed that he believes the song is not spiritually right.
“I won’t take any money from the Wope Dodo song because I know that song is unholy because I wrote it.
It is not a God-like son,g so I won’t take any money from it.
I won’t stand anywhere to sing Wope Dodo, so I won’t take it,” he stated
