KOD: Mahama 'embodies the leadership, vision our country needs'
Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD) "with conviction and hope" has "proudly endorsed" the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama.
The media star and fashion icon did so publicly on an NDC campaign stage in his fugu of NDC colours: red, green, black, white.
He vouched for Mr Mahama's "very noble character," lauding him as the presidential candidate who "embodies the leadership and vision our country needs in this turbulent time". He underlined Mr Mahama had learned the ropes of service and leadership since 1996 when he was elected the member of parliament for Bole Bambo, and, thereafter, "rose through the ranks to become the commander in chief of this great nation".
The Nineteen57 fashion brand founder provided more reasons for his faith in John Mahama, citing the 24-hour economic policy proposed by the latter, among other things:
> He is a true experienced leader who has gone through the mill.
> I am voting for Mahama because he truly has the youth of this nation at heart.
> I believe in him because he is leader who accepts responsibility for problems and resolves them.
> A leader of vision and a proven-track record.
> I have no doubt that the Mahama 24-hour economy will create decent jobs for the youth in all sectors including the creative arts and hospitality sectors.
> Even more exciting is his promise to train one million Ghanaian youth in coding and invest $3 billion into ICT to create 300,000 jobs.
> It is time for change! vote Mahama on 7th December, 2024 for a secured future.
KOD was once an avid supporter of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NDC) and campaigned for President Nana Akufo-Addo, in whom, since 2023, he has said he is greatly disappointed.
The NDC launched its campaign for the December 7 elections on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Tamale, Northern Region.
