Popular Ghanaian preacher Nicholas Osei, known widely as Kumchacha, has urged the government to take custody of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba’s body as disagreements over his funeral and related court issues intensify.

Speaking on United Showbiz on UTV, Kumchacha claimed that the ongoing disputes were spiritually troubling and disrespectful to the icon’s memory.

He said Lumba’s soul was in deep sorrow because of the unresolved conflicts.

According to Kumchacha, the tension surrounding the musician’s burial has reached a point where state intervention is necessary.

“Lumba’s soul is in deep sorrow.

Spiritually, it is as if he is standing in an ancestral court, distressed as these issues continue,” he said.

He also recommended that the scheduled December 13th funeral be postponed for at least six months to allow time for a peaceful resolution among all parties involved.

Kumchacha drew an analogy to land disputes, explaining that when individuals cannot settle such matters, the government steps in to restore order.

“When two people cannot resolve a land issue, the government steps in.

In the same way, Lumba’s body should be handed over to the state so they can ensure a proper and dignified burial,” he emphasised.

He added that government oversight would help put an end to the ongoing confusion surrounding the late musician’s final rites.

The debate around Daddy Lumba’s funeral arrangements continues to attract wide public attention as fans and family await an official resolution.
