Labone SHS wins 20th edition of Japan-Ghana Yosakoi Festival

Labone Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication to secure victory at this year's 20th Japan-Ghana Yosakoi Festival, held at the Ghana Police Service Social Fitness Centre in Accra on November 18, 2023.
The remarkable performance left other schools such as St. Peter’s Senior High School, St. Roses Senior High School, and St. Dominic’s Senior High School astonished by the flair and confidence displayed by the Greater Accra-based school in the Yosakoi Dance.
The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, with the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Mochizuki Hisanobu, and renowned Ghanaian Highlife songstress, Akosua Agyepong, leading the esteemed guests.
Adding to the cultural richness of the festival, Japanese Reggae sensation CJ Joe captivated the crowd with scintillating performances of Japanese Reggae songs.
Notably, the festival also featured the inaugural participation of the Ghana Jiu-Jitsu Federation, showcasing their skills alongside the Ghana Karate Federation.
The diverse range of performances contributed to the vibrancy and cultural exchange at the festival, highlighting the collaborative spirit between Japan and Ghana in celebrating the Yosakoi Festival.
