Minister OJ advocates dating multiple partners but without intimacy

Singer Minister OJ has asserted one person can date multiple people at the same time.
While he said before his wife, he had not girlfriend or fiancée, he said there were women he was “talking with at church”.
The Gospel star explained dating was simply getting to know another person, while looking into the likelihood of a future together, albeit without intimacy.
“During our time, it wasn’t like today where dating means having sex and cohabiting. Dating was studying the person and their character. You could have two or three that you’d be studying,” he said.
“You can date [multiple women]. We’ve just changed the meaning [of the word] in Ghana.”
OJ bemoaned the throwing about of words in Ghana with no sensitivity to their actual meaning, citing “loosely calling every beverage tea, while there’s actual tea [which is different from] chocolate drinks, and others”.
“Even our traditional marriage ceremony, which is a real marriage, is termed as engagement by some, which is wrong,” he noted.
“The Whiteman’s traditional marriage is the white wedding we do, and we have our traditional marriage, also, where we ask for you [wife] from your parents. That’s proper marriage.”
Nana Romeo on Okay FM wondered if he had been with any woman before his wife.
OJ noted he was well aware of what the line of questioning was aimed at, lightheartedly adding it was his sole choice to answer or otherwise.
