My new song is inspired to correct ‘spiritual errors’ in the lives of people - Philipa Baafi
Ghanaian gospel singer Philipa Baafi says her new single was inspired by a desire to “correct spiritual errors” in the lives of listeners.
The award-winning artist released her latest song, W’apegya Menhyira Mu, on Sunday, 7 September 2025.
Speaking on No.1 FM’s Gospel Showbiz with Taller, Dee, Miss Baafi said the spirit-led song is meant to uplift and restore those struggling with spiritual challenges.
W’apegya Menhyira Mu is Baafi’s second single in two years, adding to a long list of gospel hits that have defined her over a two-decade career.
Miss Baafi began singing at the age of nine at the Bantama Methodist Church in Kumasi, performing regularly in nearby congregations.
She developed her musical talent while attending St. Monica’s Secondary School in Asante Mampong before launching her professional career in 1999 with her debut album Nyame Honhon Sane.
She went on to release several successful albums, including Mogya Nakasa (2002), Okyeso Nyame (2004), and the popular Go High.
