Gospel musician Herty Borngreat has stated that a person's relationship with God is more important than their appearance, stressing that clothing alone does not determine whether someone goes to heaven or hell.

Speaking on the Journey to Heaven show on No. 1 FM with host Taller Dee, Herty Borngreat revealed that she cannot identify a specific year she became born again because she was raised in a Christian home from birth.

According to the gospel singer, she was born in a mission house where she and her siblings constantly had access to the Word of God. She recalled that her upbringing was guided by strict Christian principles, with practices such as wearing trousers, jeans, and wigs being discouraged.

"Even wearing jeans was considered a sin. My grandmother would not allow us to wear trousers, wigs, and similar things," she said.

Herty Borngreat disclosed that she only started wearing wigs after getting married, explaining that times have changed and women sometimes make certain choices to please their spouses.

"New things are happening and we have to move forward. As a woman, you have to be attractive to your husband. What your husband wants is sometimes what you do for him," she said.

The gospel artiste noted that people go through different stages in life and eventually come to understand which habits or practices are beneficial and which are not.

She stressed that one's walk with God is what truly matters, adding that God guides believers in their personal convictions and decisions.

"It is not your dressing that will take you to heaven or hell. It depends on your relationship with God. Your walk with God will determine how you live and what you choose to wear," she stated.

Herty Borngreat also advised Christians to respect the doctrines of their churches. She said that if a church has rules regarding appearance or dressing, members who choose to worship there should follow those rules, or consider attending another church if they disagree with them.
