UE/R: Child, 2 adults die in in Yikurigu crash involving Yutong bus and Toyota minivan
Three people, including a man, a woman, and a child, were killed in a road crash involving a Yutong VVIP bus and a Toyota Sienna at Yikurigu, near Zebilla in the Upper East Region.
According to a statement from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) issued on Saturday, June 13, 2026, the accident occurred on the Bolgatanga–Zebilla–Bawku highway.
The VVIP bus, carrying three people and goods, was traveling toward Bawku, while the Toyota Sienna, which also had three occupants, was heading toward Bolgatanga when the vehicles collided.
All three occupants of the Toyota Sienna died at the scene. The three male occupants of the VVIP bus, including the driver, sustained injuries and were taken to the Zebilla Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined and remains under investigation by authorities.
