Odo Broni has sought to be declared Daddy Lumba's legal wife, Lawyer William Kusi says
Odo Broni, the late Highlife icon Daddy Lumba's partner, has sought to be declare the legal wife of the singer, lawyer William Kusi has said.
Kusi is the lawyer for Germany-based Mrs Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, Charles Kwadwo 'Daddy Lumba' Fosuh's wife, verified and confirmed by the German Embassy, Accra.
He said the defence and counterclaim were both submitted in the High Court, Kumasi, where Mrs Akosua Fosuh had also filed an interlocutory injunction application, seeking to bar Lumba's extended family from carrying on with a Saturday, December 6, 2025, funeral programme they had planned without her.
"She [Odo Broni] has now opened her defense in court and filed a counterclaim asking the court to declare that Daddy Lumba divorced Akosua Serwaa. She also wants the court to recognise her as Daddy Lumba's legal wife," William Kusi ESQ said on Top Radio's Final Point programme.
Mrs Akosua Serwaa Fosuh's interlocutory injunction application was eventually dismissed.
Furthermore, Mrs Fosuh and Lumba's elder sister Ernestina Fosuh have questioned the circumstances under which the revered singer died at 60, and have appealed to local and German authorities to investigate same.
