Esther Smith has revealed how her attention-arresting, soul-searching and spirit-stirring songs are conceived and created.

She spoke to Mr Lion on Class 91.3 FM's drive time show, Class Drive.

“Normally, I get my inspiration from pastors when they are preaching; when I fast; life’s personal experiences; conversations, also,” she said.

Mentioning conversations, caused her to speak about her latest song, Onyame Banbo (God's Protection) with Morris Babyface.

Esther Smith said: “I was talking to Pastor Joe Beecham. While the media and everyone were wondering where I was, Pastor Joe Beecham called me on phone and said, ‘Auntie Esther, you know something? They made incantations with water against you but it expired; to trees, it expired. You know something, God’s protection is heavy on you. So rise immediately and come continue with your work’”.

She fondly added: “Pastor Joe Beecham is my soul brother. Among all the singers, he’s my good friend.”

The singer-songwriter after 10 years of being away from Ghana has returned from the United Kingdom with a two-city concert dubbed: The Esther Smith Live Concert.
