Piesie Esther laments lack of unity in gospel music industry
In a candid interview on No. 1 FM's Gospel Showbiz, hosted by Taller Dee, Accra's leading gospel programme, gospel artiste Piesie Esther expressed her concerns about the challenges hindering the growth and advancement of the gospel industry. According to her, one of the major obstacles is the lack of support from fellow Christians.
Piesie Esther emphasised that financial constraints and human support are significant factors contributing to the struggles faced by gospel artistes.
She pointed out that many Christians fail to support each other's initiatives, often preferring to attend programmes held on neutral grounds rather than supporting their own.
"It's disheartening to see Christians not supporting each other," she said.
"When a fellow Christian is hosting a programme, either in their church or elsewhere, many Christians don't attend simply because it's not their church.
Piesie Esther also noted that Christians often show more enthusiasm and support for secular events, lavishing love and attention on the secular world while neglecting their own industry.
She cited the biblical phrase "the children of this world are wiser in their generation than the children of light" (Luke 16:8), emphasising the need for Christians to prioritise supporting and uplifting one another.
Her words have sparked a much-needed conversation about unity and support within the Christian community, highlighting the importance of working together to promote the growth and success of the gospel industry.
