The nominees for the annual Ghana Entertainment Awards USA (GEA) USA were unveiled last weekend ahead of the main ceremony at Merkin Hall, Kaufman Music Center, New York, on Saturday, 1 July, 2023.

Celebrating its fifth year, the Ghana Entertainment Awards (GEA-USA) will honour notable accomplishments of Ghanaian creatives in Ghana, the United States and Canada.

The upcoming edition will acknowledge exceptional contributions in various categories such as music, dance, media, poetry and comedy, among others, while offering a platform to promote the diverse talents of Ghanaians on an international scale.

Rappers Sarkodie and Black Sherif, recently named Artist of the Year at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, lead this year’s nominees, having been shortlisted in three categories each.

Other notable nominees include Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and King Promise, all of whom secured two nods each. 

Voting is ongoing online here and is neither age nor territory restricted.

Voting ends on 15 June and winners will be announced at the main ceremony.
