According to the two-time BET winner, “a production on the mixtape” led him to name it The Championship.
“It’s hard to explain but you can hear a beat and there’s something, there’s a word, that comes with it,” he explained.
Sarkodie emphasised he only ventured into music out of “passion” and nothing else.
“I never music because I wanted to be famous or make money out of it. It was just the love for music, basically. That’s why I picked up a pen; it was to express something within me.”
In 2016, Michael Owusu Addo, professionally called Sarkodie, alias Obidiponbidi, filled the O2 Indigo, London.
Meanwhile, Brag is the official single from The Championship Mixtape. Released on Friday May 10, it resulted in rap beefs among the new generation of rappers mostly in Ghana and Nigeria.
