TGMAs 2024: Olivetheboy bemoans rude reception, reveals his award was taken away indefinitely backstage
Olivetheboy has voiced his displeasure for how artistes and patrons were received into the venue for the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
He was speaking to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo.
“The entry. I’m not sure I’m the only one that suffered it, you know. It was crowded while artistes were approaching. Also, some of the people who were to formerly receive us into the venue were talking rudely," the Bu Vision Music star bemoaned.
He asserted he was mirroring the sentiments of “even the people who were coming to see the event”.
“They must be spoken to nicely,” he said. “That’s the only thing I didn’t like.”
The singer-songwriter also revealed his Best Afrobeats Song of the Year plaque for megahit Goodsin “was taken backstage” and “I don’t know when they’ll return it, unless I ask”.
He said: “They had us take pictures and they collected their thing.”
Concluding, the singer-songwriter noted this was his first-ever award for his years in music.
Organised by Charterhouse, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards started on Saturday, June 1, ending on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre’s (AICC) Grand Arena.
