All banks, schools, and public institutions in Kumasi and its surrounding areas will remain closed on Thursday, September 18, as part of activities marking the burial of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The directive, issued by the Manhyia Palace, reflects the solemnity of the occasion as the Asante Kingdom prepares to lay its revered Queenmother to rest.

The funeral rites began on Sunday, September 14, and will span four days, culminating in the final burial service on Thursday.

As part of the programme, a filing past of the late Asantehemaa is taking place from Monday, September 15, to Wednesday, September 17, between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.

The closure of institutions is expected to allow residents and dignitaries to participate fully in the historic ceremony.
