New Overlord of Gonja Kingdom enskinned; to be out-doored today

In accordance with the customs and traditions of Gonja, a new Overlord, Bii-Kunuto Jawu Soale has been enskinned to lead the Gonja Kingdom.
Bii-Kunuto Jawu Soale succeeded the late Overlord Sulemana Tutumba Boresa I who died in February this year at age 90.
He was enskinned yesterday, Monday, 20 March 2023 at Nyange, the ancient traditional capital of the Gonja people in tandem with the enskinment processes of a Yagbonwura.
The enskinment ceremony was spiced up with traditional performances at the venue.
After the enskinment, the new Yagbonwura moved to Damongo and he will be out-doored today Tuesday, 21 March 2023 at the Jakpa Palace in Damongo.
Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jawu Soale is expected to continue to hold Gonjaland together and enhance traditional governance among the various tribal groups in the area.
Before ascending to the highest chieftaincy skin of the Gonja Kingdom, Bii-Kunuto Jawu Soale was first enskinned as Jakpaseri-wura a sub-chieftaincy title in the Tuluwe Traditional Area.
He was later enskinned as Timanklan-wura from where he moved to Kachinako-wura before he was elevated to the entry gate to the Tuluwe skin as Bunda-wura.
He was later enskinned as the Paramount Chief for the Tuluwe Traditional Area of the Gonja Kingdom on 21st April 2020.
At the enskinment yesterday there were government and party executives from all political divides.
Government officials present included the Savannah Regional Minister Mr Saeed Muhazu Jibril, the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Dr Braimah Clifford as well as DCE's from Savannah Region.
Former President John Dramani Mahama delegated a team led by the NDC Savannah regional chairman Alhaji Imoro aka Man Blessing accompanied by Regional, Constituency and Branch executives to the enskinment ceremony of the new Yagbonwura Jirah Bii-Kunuto Jawu Nbema Soale.
The MP's of Bole-Bamboi and Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Yussif Sulemana and Andrews Chiwetey Dari respectively were part of the regional chairman’s entourage to the ceremony.
Former President John Dramani Mahama is expected to be accompanied by a powerful delegation of the NDC family to the out-dooring ceremony scheduled to take place in Damongo the regional capital later today.
The out-dooring event of the new Yagbonwura which is a customary rite will see many dignitaries including Government officials, Overlords from other traditional areas and Diplomats in attendance.
