Traditional leaders urge collaboration to empower youth through education
The Nanton Naa Mahama V, representative of the Yanaa of Dagbon Kingdom, has emphasised the importance of collaboration between government, traditional authorities, and development partners to empower Ghana's youth through education.
The Northerners in Ablekuma Joma have celebrated their annual cultural festival in a colourful display of tradition, unity, and heritage.
The event brought together chiefs, community leaders, youth groups, and residents from across the northern communities living in Ablekuma Joma.
Dressed in beautiful traditional attire, participants showcased rich northern culture through drumming, dancing, and traditional music.
Speaking at a celebration, he highlighted the need to promote peace, unity, and social cohesion to drive sustainable development.
The event's theme, "Celebrating Heritage, Empowering the Youth through Education for Peace and Sustainable Development," resonated with the Nanton Naa, who urged traditional leaders to mobilise their communities for education and work with institutions to break down barriers and build pathways for young people to excel.
He stressed that empowering youth through education is a shared responsibility, requiring investment in quality education and enhanced access to learning for all.
